I also thought this was a picture of a frag you got at the swap Ed.

The top picture is from when the coral was in my tank before it was fragged at the BOD meeting. After wards the frags got split up and I had 10 of them in my frag tank and spent lots of time looking at them. That second picture you put up looks exactly like it was one of the frags (I didn't recognize the shape but I thought it was one of the frags that was not kept by me).

I wonder if this wild piece could be the same as that Emma's Jedi Mind Trick?

I do have one of the ten frags from the main colony, but it is not as green body as on the photos.

I been to Marks place and seen the Emma Jedi Mind Trick, I didnt recognized the similarities until I saw a posting on RC.

There were more than 10 frags of it Ed. After it was fragged 10 came back to me and some went to someone else. The colony was on the sand in my main tank, the frags were in my frag tank, put on the outside but I think they still got too much light. I would keep this one low in your tank.

What surprises me is how fast it grows. Two that were touching grew back together, two others were attached to the egg crate. I am not familiar with wild colonies but I would expect that they would take a while to adjust to conditions in an aquarium but this one seems to grow like a weed.

Gresham, I remember you picking up 1 of the 2 (I got the other one) that arrived before Max got about 3 other large colonies of the Red Polyp Undata. Does your look like the other 3 that Max got in? I would like to know since mine doesn't look the same. Thanks

It would be sweet if any of these wild Red Undatas are the same as the Jedi. I doubt it, but always wishful thinking.

Here's a quote from Frag Farmers site.

Quote
True Montipora undata corals with red polyps are very rare

So, either its the same or not its still a rare find.

Anyone find a piece of hitchhiker Psammy looking coral on their frag? Dark purpleish center with a bright green leading edge?

Here's a pic of the little buggers (there's two small separate frags on there)

Wow you just named it, it's Aussie so it has to be good right:D. I'm gonna slice it off tonight and mount it and we'll see what happens, it's much brighter in person than in the pic.

The coral mine was cut from was a "middle piece" I think, basically all coral with very little rock behind it.   Still got it thought even though it is quite a bit bleached (no more green Cheesy)  it does have a cool look about it.
