IM Ghost Desktop : Micro-Bubbles

So I just picked up an IM Ghost Desktop to use in one of the rear compartments of my IM Fusion 30L. No matter how I try to tune the thing, I end up with steady stream of microbubbles in the display area. Anyone else had to contend with this before?
 
Is it brand new? I own two of them (different sizes) and the only time I had micro-bubbles at all was when it was brand new. I did begin to see a few after it had been in use for about 7 months as well but they went away when I cleaned it.

Turns out that the little pump inside was not firmly inserted in the porthole at the bottom of the skimmer body. Humming happily now.
