Who's going and who wants to hang out with the rest of us from the club? Let's get a tally, find out where everyone's staying and perhaps plan on getting together.

The club would like to announce that we know one person who will be there to lead the BAR charge for sure. As a member of MASNA and thank you for his many years of running the club and so much more, we are taking care of Mike's (@coralreefer) airfare. For years he has shepherded this club and kept it going and this is a small, small token of appreciation. He will represent us in a sparkling new BAR T-shirt at every dive, dungeon, strip joint, and even some less savory locations if he feels it's necessary -- he may also show up at the event.

Here's the details for those who are still thinking about it (although it's Vegas, it's the penultimate reef show and you'll have friends there to help you stagger home -- so why wouldn't you go?

MACNA in Las Vegas on September 7-9. It is being held at the Westgate resort. Details can be found here.

Please let us know on this thread if you plan on attending and where you will be staying.

Yes to all (professional development, baby) + husband. And great idea re: CoralReefer.
Staying at Westgate Th, Fri, Sat. Speaker geek here, so might go to a bunch

Will be there, only going to be their Saturday though so not staying anywhere. Flight gets there somewhat early (8:30am I think) and leaves at 7;50pm so might have time for a breakfast or a dinner probably be too busy walking the hall, but I'm more than happy to hang out with someone while walking around, San Diego Arnold was my wingman :D

Yes, you can, but it only holds so much water and there's only so much space in it for the frags.

P.S. I charge a handling fee. It'll cost you like a million dollars!...or a beer. :p

Would sitting you at blackjack table until the waitress came around to offer drinks count?

Do they still do the complementary drink bit at the tables? I feel Las Vegas has changed so much since last I've been, $5 minimum tables are gone (at any decent casino), parking is not free anywhere (mostly due to a couple companies owning all the casinos), the monorail actually goes much farther, resort fees are a thing (at most it used to be a safe fee and you could argue that you didn't want to use it).

I will be at the Westgate from Thursday night through Monday evening, looking forward to hanging with everyone soon!

As long as your playing at a table or a machine there's still free drinks. They've become a bit more strict if you're just standing there and watching, but a nice tip will always get you a run of free drinks.

Still find $5 (and even $2) tables Downtown last I looked.
