Return Pump Noise

I have a Synchra Silent, which right now is anything but. it's not touching the sides of the sump, and it's mounted on its little suction cups, but there's a lot of vibration. What are some ways to dampen the operating noise?

+1. Silicone - Is this a new pump? Impeller all good?

I place a piece of rubber matting under return pumps. Helps dampen the vibrations just a bit - Same stuff as you’d put on a stand under a tank.

Braided nylon is stiff, just a section of vinyl hose will do it; you have/had a section of hose on it?
Might be just the pump not sitting properly in the sump.

Is it a submerged pump? Or external? If it's internal you can put down a layer of sand and set the pump on top. It (typically) will not suck the sand up, and the sand will help isolate the pump from the sides of the sump.

If it's external and it doesn't heat up a lot ... make a box to cover it?
