Ok married and kids complete. Now back to reefing - Red Sea G2+ S950 Peninusula

Ok finally got the pump hooked up, tank filled and water circulating. I’m very impressed with the quality of the build of this tank and stand. It was quite easy to get everything together and there were no leaks once filling the tank and turning on the pump. Since I’m going full on Red Sea...

Thanks everyone! Yes I do plan to check PAR levels at various points in the tank once I have water in and place the corals appropriately. I think you’re right that I will have a few different shady areas in the tank. Hopefully the fish will enjoy hanging out in those spots. I did leave a...

Got the cabinet together and put the rocks in. Let me know what you think of the aquascaping. Was trying to do the whole negative space thing but with some nooks and hiding spots

Was a busy day but had a bunch of friends come over and successfully got the tank in and onto the stand. Not sure everyone’s backs made it through unscathed!

Absolutely agree! I’ve been debating creating my own quarantine tank but to be honest the time and evergy to correctly do the whole quarantine process just seems like a lot. To me it would be well worth the drive and even extra cost (if the fish are priced higher) to go to Oakland if it meant...

Hi everyone! Jumping back into the hobby after an 8 year hiatus. Decided to create a mixed reef with a peninsula tank that will divide my living room and kitchen areas. Wanted to go big! So decided to go with the Red Sea G2+ S950 Peninsula. Tank is 200 gallons and sump is 50...

    Doug's 180 Gallon Mixed Reef

So Here are some new pictures. Sorry they're crappy iPhone pics, but thats the only camera I have. Kensington: does that hogfish look familiar? Attached files

Where do you guys put your heaters?

Thanks everyone. Moved the two heaters into opposite ends of the sump, but not too close to the temp probe. I have very good flow through my sump (return pump is a mag 24), so I'm not too worried about a temperature differential b/w the tank and sump.

    Rygh's 250 gallon upgrade

I have the super reef octopus 3000 internal for my 180g. It's an awesome skimmer and pulls out tons of crap from time = zero. You won't be dissapointed.

Where do you guys put your heaters?

I know I probably should know the answer to this but I'm just not sure. I have a standard 180 with two corner overflows and a 60 gallon sump which is in the garage (directly behind the tank). I run the apex controller (as of last week) and put the temperature probe in the sump right...
