Funny! I got an opposite story, in which I went to purchase a hermit crab and ended up with a snail! I've asked for empty shells before from stores before for my hermit crabs to move into and there have been a few times in which the "empty" shell turned out to have a resident already. :P

Zoa not opening all of a sudden. Reasons?

None, every time I get a frag or a new piece of coral, I always check for those buggers and remove them immediately. My tank is asterina-free to my knowledge. The tubs did open up today after I turned the lights on. They don't look as robust as they usually do but perhaps the iodine dip...

Zoa not opening all of a sudden. Reasons?

s.a. is at 1.025 right now after adding the mg. Before it was at 1.023. mg has been increased to 12xx, I will be checking it again tomorrow morning to see if anything happened. I had white light off and actinic on since around 8 PM. I turned white back on with actinic still on at around...

Zoa not opening all of a sudden. Reasons?

The blue tubs I got a few weeks ago have been going strong and quite healthy until today. When I first got it, it opened within 5-10 minutes of entering my tank. And has done so for the past few weeks that I've had it. It was my healthiest and most robust specimen in the tank. Today, I came...

    CamryDS' 29 Gallon Biocube

I love your new rock work! I'm in the process of debating on redoing mine as well. I have it all packed in the back, it looks like a freaking wall :(. Yours looks great though! Keep it up :) And I'm sorry to hear about all of those fish problems.

    Phoebe's 14 gal BioCube

Very pretty! :) Where did you find those green mushrooms? They look very nice! I just bought the intank double submersible light as well. The media rack was waaaay too expensive, so I skipped that. $45 for a rack... I can make one myself for half the cost, maybe less. Hah... Finding...

Jeremiah Chua's - Nano 29 biocube reef tank

It is cheato actually, haha. I don't have a light in my 2nd chamber yet, so I'm letting it sit in the front to get some light in the time being. Anyone have suggestions in what kind of light to get to place in the 2nd chamber on a biocube?

Jeremiah Chua's - Nano 29 biocube reef tank

Updated! :) I added in 2 more sexy shrimp, another pair, last week. So I have 2 males and 2 females now. I also got a few new zoanthids on Friday. Eagle eyes, watermelons, pink center with silver skirt, teal center with brown skirt zoas. I also got a green star polyp covered rock! :)...

Jeremiah Chua's - Nano 29 biocube reef tank

Thanks for the input. Right now, the outflow is making the front of my sand bed fly a little. Kind of annoying actually but it's not too bad that it's disturbingly noticeable. I may add an extra powerhead though, as time goes on. I should probably pick up a Koralia 1 when I find a good deal...

Jeremiah Chua's - Nano 29 biocube reef tank

You know what, I was really debating on whether or not I should add an extra powerhead. I read on multiple threads that Zoas aren't too keen on too much current. And since this is going to be mainly zoa tank, I don't know if I should. What are your takes on it? And anyone else's opinion for...

Hello, new member and reefer here :) (A freshwater junkie too!)

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I can't believe you're on here too, Marc! Since when did you start a Saltwater tank?! Hahahaha... Anyway, I followed your suggestion Rick, and made a tank journal thread :)

Jeremiah Chua's - Nano 29 biocube reef tank

I came home tonight and took a picture of my first coral, the Tub's Blue Zoa. I know it's probably a common sight for you folks but it's my first coral, so I have that gitty "de-virginized" feeling of coral introduction. Plus, it's my first zoa and my first "favorite" zoa at that! So I'm...

Jeremiah Chua's - Nano 29 biocube reef tank

Well, I normally don't like doing tank journals, simply because after a while, I start getting lazy and stop updating. However, we'll see how long this lasts. I will try to update when things change or when I add stuff in. It's kind of fun to see before and after pics, so hopefully I keep up...

Hello, new member and reefer here :) (A freshwater junkie too!)

Hello everyone! I was recommended by Neptune to check out this forum, as well as norcalreefer.org. I joined that forum first but decided to check out this one too! I'm a big freshwater person, I love it a lot. My forte are plants (I looooove rare plants and was a huge collector). I...
