Help --- New Skimmer wont stop overflowing

I like your idea, I was looking at using my apex to do it which starts to get more expensive but I like the simplicity and cost of your plans

Help --- New Skimmer wont stop overflowing

That will have to go on the want list, I have been looking at it on avast marine but there are too many other goodies to get first like an ATO system which I am seriously considering given how much water I loose with the skimmer going finally.

Help --- New Skimmer wont stop overflowing

It worked, dropped the water level and raised the skimmer until the bubble plate was just about at the water line of the sump and everything is going well now. Still really wet but not overflowing so it is all good.

Help --- New Skimmer wont stop overflowing

I will give that a try, the manufacturer recommends 9.5 to 10.5 inches of water, I started at about 8.5 and thought that was the problem. I will try going the other way and see how it goes.

Help --- New Skimmer wont stop overflowing

That goes to show you how worthless their site is, now the skimmer is all white. I am able to spin the air/water intake tube from max to off, right now I have it at max and it still overflows. When I turn to off it goes crazy on the overflow side and has almost no bubbles. I am wondering if...

Help --- New Skimmer wont stop overflowing

I am trying to get my new skimmer up and running and for the life of me I can't get it to stop overflowing. I have adjusted the water height as well as tried to adjust the air intake and at max air intake it still just continues to overflow. Any ideas are appreciated. Skimmer: Bubble Magus...

Nano Build Extraordinaire ~ 120 Gallon Mixed Reef

Sunday's Adventures in Reefing... Sunday was filled with getting the apex system installed and initially programmed, after all, who wants to looks at everything on the ground and not play with the programming. While we were at it we decided we could pick up our first tank inhabitants ( A...

Nano Build Extraordinaire ~ 120 Gallon Mixed Reef

After getting the piping all together and doing a quick water test for leaks we decided to switch out the mag 12 to a mag 9.5 which meant another trip to the store. Not a big problem just another delay. After getting back and getting the new pump installed it was time to finish up the lights...

Nano Build Extraordinaire ~ 120 Gallon Mixed Reef

I didn't use it on the bulkhead. I just scrapped the glass with a razor and wiped down with alcohol, then installed a new bulkhead being really careful not to over tighten but still get tight. In the end it all worked and then I decided to hard plumb everything rather than use the flex pipe that...

Nano Build Extraordinaire ~ 120 Gallon Mixed Reef

Oh What A day. I will upload pictures tomorrow but can't be happier, tank is on, apex is controlling on the minimal side, lights fully mounted using custom brackets and canopy is on the tank. All plumbing is leak free and new drain plumbing is in and working well. The tank is a little cloudy but...

Nano Build Extraordinaire ~ 120 Gallon Mixed Reef

On to the next stage... Lights. After wondering through Lowes this morning I started to look at ways I can mount My AI SOLs securely. I found a solution, 1" square aluminum tubing and a bunch of measuring, cutting and drilling. I think it will be a nice compact look and I have nothing better to...

    Finally Back in the game

Hello, my name is Brad and I finally have a tank coming together. I have been on the forum for a few months now and really looking forward to picking the groups brain and giving back as much as I can. In the early 2000's (College) I had a 75 gallon bowfront reef tank and a 55 gallon...
