I second the UV and the plants(Hyacinth, water lettuce, horwort, Elodea...) Or you can introduce a starter culture of Daphnia and start selling live fish food =)
Hmm, I think the brown stuff might be zooxanthellae as well. If it was sperm, I think it should have been whitish in color. If it was eggs, I think it should have been buoyant and floated to the surface. I am just basing this on all the National Geographic type coral spawning videos...
I am setting up a 2 story fish rack with 8x 10g and 2x 20g glass tanks. I would like to hook up all the individual heaters(25w Marineland Stealth) to 1(or even 2) temp controllers to ensure a stable temp in all tanks. Would a Ranco single stage ETC-111000-000 be right for the job? Does anyone...
The little cute red ones are probably in the genus Convolutriloba. If you slap one under the scope, you can chk out the endosymbiotic algae within. It must be neat to be partially solar powered!

Nothing added since 11-23. I had to mow down the Caulerpa on the right a bit. It was getting too touchy-feely with the neighboring Bird's Nest.
