Hey guys,

The cuttle display is up at work, and its working out well so far. The idea is to have a bunch of cuttles on display (30) while they are small, and move them off show as needed. The display consist of leather corals and single polyp LPS. There are several starfish for clean up.
The tank is 48inx24x24, approx 120 gallons, connecting to 3 other tanks for a total volume of approx 300 gallons. There are 2 175 watt, 20k MH fixtures for lighting.
Circulation is mostly via the return from the pump, and glitter lines are achieved by single rigid airline tube and air bubbles.
The substrate is a mix of fine sand and coral rubble.
The S.bandensis were all hatched at the Academy and were fed live mysis and were weaned onto thawed PE mysis around week 4. Currently they are eating saltwater marine ghost shrimp and local cragnon bait shrimp. I was planning them weaning them onto frozen foods, but since we can keep cragnon at 50 degrees f here at work, I may just keep them on live stuff.

This morning I caught some hanky panky:

Where do you get live mysis? They aren't mysids your using?

Great shots as always Rich :) These at CAS or the airport? Just asking as I thought there were 3 tanks at the airport :)

Yep, live mysids - we get them from somewhere....April gets them....I don't ask. :D

These are at CAS. SFO has a dart frog tank, a mostly lps reef and an Amazon planted tank.

Thanks!

OK so the mysis part was a mistake and they are mysids? Just wondering as I was unaware anyone was selling live mysis, although, PE is now doing it for Public Aquariums ;)

I need to make it out to SFO one of these days. I just never use that place any more, just too far for mee.

How cute! I love cuttlefish. :) :D Great pictures Rich! Maybe after this Sat. you'll have more "furniture" to spruce up their abode. :)

Very nice! Ill have to make trip to check out the display soon.

Mine are getting old and bigger then previous ones. My mystery cuttle actually never grew as big as we expected. Unfortunately, he passed away couple weeks ago at around 3.5"s. I have tons of pics I need to go through when i get a spare moment =)
