hi i have recently bought so new lights for my tank.i up graded from 2 250 light to 2 400 hundred light..how far from the tank should i keep the light from the tank?thxs
 
I like 9 to 12 in". But bring them down in increments (16-18")and keep and eye on things. If you see an unhappy piece, move the lights up a bit. Good luck, and except for your electric bill your going to love the results.

That is the most critical point besides the tank size.
