Greetings fellow reefers! My name is Dan K. but you can call me Drippy... Just wanted to post my Mr, Aqua 7.5 gal rimless reef. This is a tank that I have setup at work since summer '13. I work at Neptune Aquatics in Milpitas, Ca...If you're unfamiliar with the area its the town that smells like like a landfill...well...because theres a huge landfill. Anyway here's a complete breakdown of my tank build...
Tank Specifications :
-12"x12"x12" low iron rimless
Parameters/maintenance/dosing
Target Alk : 9dkh
Target CA : 420ppm
Target MG : 1350ppm
SG : 1.026
- Weekly 10% water change to replenish trace
- Dose 5ml Alk, 5ml, Ca, 10ml Mag 2-3 times a week (this tank consumes a lot)
- Dose Reef Nutrition Phytofeast once a week
- Feed corals and fish a blend of flakes and cyclopeeze
Filtration/Circulation :
-Aquaclear 70 HOB filter with refugium mod - chaetomorpha
- UpAqua 17cm 10k LED (24hr light cycle)
-ATB Carbon and Seachem Purigen
Lighting :
-12" Reef-brite 50/50 LED...I would like to put a Kessil A150w...but people in Hell want ice water so yea...
Rock/Sand :
~10lbs Real Reef Rock ("I want that purple stuff!!!")
~6lbs of #3 grain sand
Corals/Inverts :
LPS
- 9 various Acans (acanthastrea lordhowensis)
- Blastomussa ( blastomussa wellsi)
- Fungia plate coral (fungia sp.)
- Duncan Coral (Duncanopsammia axifuga)
- Candy Cane Coral (Caulastrea furcata)
- War Coral Favia (Favites pentagona)
- Green Frogspawn (Euphylia Sp.)
- 24k Leptastrea ( duh...spp.)
- Aussie Dendro (dendrophylia sp.)
Softies
- Green Star Polyps (briareum sp.)
- Rhodactis Mushroom (rhodactis sp.)
- Blue Sympodium (sympodium sp.)
Inverts
- 3" Maxima Clam (tridacna maxima)
- 6-Blue legged hermit crabs
- 2-Scarlett legged hermit crabs
- 6-Nassarius snails
- 6-Banded Trochus snails
- Randall's Pistol shrimp (alpheus randalli)
Fish
- Yasha Goby (stonogobiops yasha)
- Yellow Clown Goby (gobiodon okinawae)
- Tanaka's Possum Wrasse (wetmorella tanakeii)
- Rainsford Goby (amblygobius rainfordi)
*I know some of you may think this is a lot of fish for a 7.5 gallon but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ they are all happy!
