Congratulations on winning the battle!

I took my rocks out and scrapped the algae out with a scalpel. Often times cutting down into the rock itself to get the roots out too!

Yep. The key seems to be committed manual removal.

Way to beat the algae. Also been my experience that you have to reduce the amount of algae yourself before the CUC can kick in, or add lots of CUC at the first signs.
