Reefbrite LED Strip

My 48" reefbrite led strip recently went out. I'm not sure if it is a ballast issue or LED issue. Anyone know how I can easily test? I don't have another ballast that I can use for testing. Anyone else around the SSF area have a ballast that I can test with?

LEDs need constant current.
Most strips have a separate DC power supply, usually 24V, and an internal current driver.

Can you get to anything with a voltmeter?
Power supply? LED strings themselves?

Open up the power supply.

You’ll probably find some burned up capacitors like in the attached pic.

I had 2 units fail that way. Reef Brite customer support was very poor.

I ended up buying a 24V 6A power supply through Amazon.

Also had to get a 5.5mm x 2.5mm Male Plug to 5.5mm x 2.1mm Female Jack DC Power Adapter.

It’s held up for over a couple years now.

Can you let me know which power supply you purchased on amazon?
