New to reef tank and bay area reefer!

Yeah, between DBTC and very giving/helpful members, that will help stock that tank up with frags in no time.

    Car detailing shop suggestions?

I would suggest going to a reputable detail shop that can do all of that for you... proper paint correction, proper cleaning, PPF and Ceramic Coating as it can take days. If your really handy and have the tools and clean garage it can be done over a long weekend. I've heard a bunch of car guys...

    Heat and more heat

You can go cheap way of using frozen plastic bottes. but if space is limited you can use those reusable frozen ice cubes. https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/kikkerland-reg-square-reusable-ice-cubes-set-of-30/1060780249?skuId=60780249&mcid=PS_googlepla

    Evaporation is no joke.

I run one with a 5 gal jug for my wife's parents 45 gal FW no issues. I only refill it every 2-3 weeks but it does have a lid on the tank.

    Car detailing shop suggestions?

For PPF there are two I would recommend.... not the cheapest but well known. https://www.yelp.com/biz/premier-protective-films-international-fremont They've done all my cars for tint and they're known in the PCar world. https://www.yelp.com/biz/ocdetailing-fremont?osq=Ceramic+Coating But if...

    Evaporation is no joke.

You can use any of the following: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/auto-top-off.html I actually sold my old Tunze ATO for really cheap, too bad you missed that. You can get a ATO and a 3-5 gal carboy to hold RO water to top off as your tank evap's. Greatly helps.

    Dino or not-social experiment

For OFZ's case I really hope it is as Dino's / Reef snot is a real PITA to deal with.

    Dino or not-social experiment

The point of doing blackout, not doing water changes, elevated pH during that 7 days of blackout as well as only feeding enough were all the fish/inverts are able to eat all the food and not leave waste was to ensure there were no excess nutrients for the SNOT to feed off on, grow more, come...

    Dino or not-social experiment

Better hope not, I battled that twice on 2 different tanks long ago... I had to do the whole 7 days of darkness and hardly feeding that beat it. I've used peroxide before too. https://reefbuilders.com/2020/05/11/dinoflagellate-aquarium-treatment/ http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-11/rhf/...

    Thoughts on this bta

That's one of the reasons why I left the hobby, got sick and tired of the coral pimping and name game. But that Green BTA is a nice looking one. Great price too.

    * BERGHIA NUDIBRANCHS * DBTC

I stopped breeding them and getting out of hobby. Was not getting the support to keep them fed and breeding. I would not place them with any ornamental shrimp, just my opinion. If you ever get them, place them in tank at night when lights closed and most fish sleeping. Sent from my...
