    Free Tank w/STand and Hood

Hi. Sorry I’ve been absent for a few days. Turns out I’m going to busy for the next week or so. If someone else wants the tank and can get it sooner, feel free to let them have it. Otherwise I can check back in about a week.

Hmm. It should be as easy as hitting upload a file, then inserting the file into the post.

    Beginner Clean-Up Crew Invertebrates

It depends on what type of snails they are. Some can self right, others can’t. The ones that can’t self right become easy pickings for other parts of your clean up crew or fish n

Is my Maroon Clown behaving ok?

It could just be sleeping on the bottom of the tank. My clowns all lay down in the sand in a big ball and sleep.

They definitely didn’t have a problem getting completely hidden. The smaller of the two picked a shallower part of the sand bed, so I’m curious to see if he moves to a new spot. I’ll try and snap a few pictures of them today.

We were told 3-4 inches, which is what we have in most places.

Well, we added 2 garden eels today. And we have a few fish waiting at LTK to get through observation. 2 pink spot gobies, 2 Benghai cardinals, 2 chalk bass, 1 royal gramma, 1 carpenter wrasse, and 1 hawkfish. The garden eels seem to be settling in nicely. They’ve chosen their temporary spots...

There’s about a million different ways to run a QT setup. Some just separate and observe. Some proactively treat with copper. Some do copper plus a number of other meds for other types of infections. Some run snails, coral, and other inverts fallow for 76 days as well. At the end of the day, I...

Yeah. I’d observe for 2-3 weeks and if they’re eating and look healthy, transfer to the display tank. Unless you QT EVERYTHING then you’re running the risk of something else bringing it in.

Yeah. I assumed it meant just observing the fish. We probably need a bit more information before anyone can say one way or another. Have I mentioned that I hate this part of the hobby yet. It’s enough to make your head spin.

But the life cycle doesn’t really matter at that point, either it’s infected or it’s not. 72 plus days isn’t going to make the fish Ich free. It may increase the chances of seeing signs if ich, but it still won’t cure it. You would need to either do the TTM or treat with copper for 14 days with...

Granted I haven’t been doing this very long, but I haven’t seen 80 days as a recommendation for fish. The life cycle of ich doesn’t really matter for that long of a QT. If there are fish, even 80 days in a tank that has ich in it won’t get rid of it. And assuming it was a clean QT to start off...
