I should have mentioned self-splitting probably took a week to accomplish. Probably much less loss of body fluids when done gradually on their own. I wonder if a rubber band or something across the anemone would work? Something gradual, thus less trauma.

I think they split on their own when they get a major water change. If it does, be sure to let it heal before you sell it. I have a few that are getting so big I am tempted hack away just to control the size. Jason, what do you think about surgery on serving plate sized anemones?

yeah, pretty warm today. I noticed my acjr turned off my lights on the biocube and my fans were cranking on the big tank.

I do not feed silversides as others have said their anemones died after eating silversides. I do feed krill, or any fresh seafoods, Spectrum fish pellets, Golden Pearls, etc. I like to chop the food fine as it seems to be easier to digest.

They do not sting each other but they do compete for light just as two of the same color would.

In my experience, they do not sting each other. They also seem to split at the same rate. My fish are not good anemone feeders.

I have gotten them off by unscrewing with pulling pressure. Takes quite a few turns but it should slowly back off. You would think the aquarium magnet would be strong enough though.

For those that just can't stand it anymore and is willing to risk a razor blade. I would recommend dulling the blade with fine sandpaper first. This reduces the chance of scratches to acrylic. Just round out the cutting edge and the corners. Sandpaper is also great for putting a new sharp...
