    ROAL drivers

Hey guys, I went to the Strategies in Light conference a couple weeks ago in sunnyvale. There was a company called ROAL that had a really cool driver for sale. It was 185W four channel driver that seemed to have a micro controller onboard for programming either on the driver using the GUI or...

    Tamazula's BC29 LED Retro

i agree the reds did add a lot especially bouncing off the coralline algae. It was amazing. But I think I wayy over did it. I had four red XREs. Rygh from what I red on your LED color thread you were running tops a couple of 25ma 5mm LEDs. I think thats more modest. I also read red(which...

    Tamazula's BC29 LED Retro

Salt and spray can always get in somehow. Awesome project box, much nicer than my MWs all strewn about in the bottom of my stand. GL with the experiment. I've had mine with mixed success. Whatever you do don't add red LEDs.

    Red LEDs

Well said. rygh: Adding the reds to only one side would only be scientific if I had the same corals on both sides haha. I'm just going to compare the tank before the reds, which had little to no growth in several months to a few months from now with the reds. I'm still curious about the...

    Red LEDs

So I read a bit of that and I think the argument is justified in some ways. It said that the deeper the coral is in the water column the more of that blue/green absorbing pigment there is. Thats not to say that all coral in our tanks are found in deep water. And I don't want to say this so...

    Red LEDs

Yeah I'd like some sources too. Not cause I don't believe you but because I'm not exactly sure chlorophyll A is the only light converting pigment in corals or even the main one for that matter. I've read that chlorophyll c is another variety that is mainly found and the absorption spectrum for...

    Red LEDs

So my red leds came in last week and i replaced 4 of my whites (4/12) with the reds. They have a max current rating of 700ma and i found that i can't get over 520ma anyway before my corals get angry, so they should be fine. I got the XRC reds. They've been on for a day now and besides really...

    Lighting up a few LEDs

Hi Guys, So I have a few LEDs left from the last big group buy that I organized, spare I bought just in case, and since I'm pretty confident on the performance of my current lights I'd like to use them for other functions. I was wondering what would be the best route for lighting up a few 1-3...

biocube29 Leaks! How can I fix it?

I have a 29 as well, i bought from Mario. Do you know if they would honor that? I don't have a leak but I wouldn't be shocked if I turn around one day and Oceanic's wonderfully made product (haha) is leaking salt water all over my floor.

    LED Q&A thread

Matt I would agree to that but also say that there is probably a few different wave lengths that stimulate coloration. I've also been running my LEDs for some time now and while I love them (running blue lights only is a real treat) I have had color loss from my monti and a stylophora. My...

    Omid's Biocube 29g Journal

So I've finally finished my Biocube 29g upgrades. I made a custom media basket and most importantly an LED light fixture. My old Biocube 14g has almost been gutted and all the corals are moved into the BC29. I bought one of NewHobby's controllers...(reefangel) and everything is amazing...
