Yeah you need to bump up your light. Last I checked I had 500-600 par levels at the top center of my rocks. Most areas I had my sps were at least 300 par. More nutrients you have, more light your coral can take. I would increase slowly.

that depends on nutient levels. Typically higher nutrients can accept higher alk and vice versa. I run my alk typically between 7-9, but also have higher nutients.

My alk swings can also be in the range of 2dkh a day. Depending on when the calcium reactor turns on. I have it controlled by my trident.

Alk swings IMO matter much more than pH. Although Alk does play a role in pH.
