The BOD would like to organize a GB for ceramic Frag plugs offered at:
    http://www.oceanswonders.com/ceramics.html

Unless there is overwhelming response to go for something else, we are going to organize around the Small Ceramic Plugs and Small Ceramic Disks. Ian, one of our resident frag-o-holics strongly endorses the ceramic versions vs the traditional "concrete composites".

    Ceramic Coral Frag Plugs 25pc = $5.00
    Ceramic Coral Frag Disks 20pc = $5.00

$5 is the discounted price including shipping.
Payment will be by CASH ONLY.
Pickup at the BOD or Swap or future meeting.

Please sign up in this thread as a commitment to the group buy. Please sign up by the bag

Can we arrange a group buy on plastic frag plugs instead? ;)

4.99 are for the regular ones, not the ceramic ones. Also like stated there should me at least a 20 percent discount off the listed prices.

Whoops! Jumped the gun again Ian. I didn't realize they had precured ceramic ones. Sign me up for a bag of ceramic tiles and one disk

Right now this is only for normal sized ceramic discs and plugs. Plastic plugs and tiles are currently not on the block. If enough people express interest in ceramic tiles, we can update.

Out of curiosity what's the different between ceramic and the "regular" plugs? Reading the website it seems the "ceramic" ones are simply regular ones fired in a kiln?

Regular plugs in curing time. The ceramic plugs do not. It is not the same material also, the ceramics are smooth while the regular ones have some texture.

Well you stick sand in a kiln at 2000 degrees it'll change texture in a hurry too :D

But thanks for the info, thought it had something to do with curing time.

Sand in a kiln doesn't melt lol. It will only turn smooth if you glaze it. I took a few ceramic classes in my time Mike.

Oh yeah Ian? Guess you need to know the ins and outs of crowns? :D

I would think it'd melt.. at least the aragonite version... but hell I'll concede not really knowing to you :D

Why not BAF's? He'd offer the deal on all of them, ceramic, discs, tiles, glue, shears, etc. heck, have you asked him to sponsor the club? Jon would if asked :)
