If the booster has a setting of Bypass 110 PSI, what does that mean? Does it just increase any strength incoming water pressure to 110 PSI, or only boosts it? Do booster pumps get weaker over time? If I changed to a different GPD membrane, would that decrease the operating PSI?
I have had a Puratek 100 GPD unit with Booster pump. With the original GE 100 GPD membrane, the booster pump ran about 80 psi. I just switched to the Spectrapure 90 GPD membrane with 90 GPD flow restrictor, and it's running at 55 psi. I'm happy that my DI is lasting much longer now with better rejection rate, but is my booster pump need replacing, or that's just how it's supposed to work? This booster pump looks to have a fixed setting with no adjustment screw visible.
