I'd be interested in that if it's the right size, GFO, and carbon. Who's heading this up?

Same as Stubbsz. Figure with enough in, shipping can be split cheaply by weight.

These group buys are tricky. I'm not in a rush for my Mg so I'm happy to wait for critical mass.

That was my intention :) I just give the brand name to my supplier and they email me the MSDS sheet on it. They usually can source any brand for me.

Compared to the MSDS on Peladow, seems like a stronger concentration. Peladow is about 91% calcium chloride.

    I guess this fizzled.

I think Buckeye Field Supply has WAY better shipping prices than BRS.

Also, seems like a lot of the CA and ALK stuff can be found at local "Leslie's" Pool supplies?

I was considering getting some Mag Flake, hence my interest in this dead thread.

I think so too, however haven't ordered from either in a while.

Leslie's hardness plus is your anhydrogenous calcium chloride, so basically use 20% less than dow flake recipes.

They do have a Soda Ash, however at the cost of a Cost-Co Arm & Hammer baking soda is still a better price.

Magflake, other than epsom salts unsure where to get the magnesium

  19. robert4025

    robert4025 Sponsor

I can hook you guys up with 50 lbs of Medical Grade Mag Sulfate and Sodium Bicarbonate for $70/each. That's better than what BRS can do and you save on shipping. I am working on pricing and availability of Calcium Chloride.

    Interested?

  20. Vincerama2

    Vincerama2 Evil Overlord

yeah, well Buckeye APPEARS to have good shipping on mag flake, however the site says "We'll contact you via email AFTER you purchase if special shipping costs apply". So...AFTER you pay, they tell you if you need to pay more?

Otherwise for 5 gallons of Mag Flake, shipping is like $11, which is way better than BRS's shipping of $30 on the same amount...so I'm suspicious of the special shipping costs, otherwise I'd get some...even though I DON'T have a mag testing kit.
