Anyone ever used these guys?

I'm looking into building a 48"x24"x18" tank.
These are some of their "standard" sizes.

18" x 24" - Clear Acrylic Plexiglass Sheet - 1/2'' Thick Cast $26.99 x2 $53.98
24" x 48" - Clear Acrylic Plexiglass Sheet - 1/2'' Thick Cast $68.99 x1 $68.99
18" x 48" - Clear Acrylic Plexiglass Sheet - 1/2" Thick Cast $51.99 x2 $103.98

so, for my tank, under $300 including shipping.

No top, not sure I'll need one with 1/2 thick
($375 with 2 pcs of 24"x48")

Assuming, you don't mind a little labor

I've been looking, But if you know of a used one for sale, LMK
And I do like to DIY

Tru Vu 48x24x20 is $400+
All Glass is $500+
not including any shipping

How soon do you need this? I'm going to sell my 100G RR tank with black back(48x24x20) after I finish my new tank. Hopefully that won't be long. I have to sell it with the stand and canopy though :) ..

Depends on how much you want for the stand and canopy.
I've been looking for a tank only, cause I generally build my own
stands, and trying to keep costs down.

Tank, stand and canopy will be cheaper than a brand new truvu tank alone :). My stand is 35" tall and the canopy is 15"H. It's maple.

Btw, that doesn't seem like such a bad deal for 1/2" thick stuff, I just checked tapplastics.com and their 2x4 1/2" pieces go for $100 each. Not to mention I don't think TruVu or makes their tanks that thick.

I'm really tempted to get started on a 4 x 4 half cube this summer (bottom half).. and for $70 a sheet, that won't be that expensive of a project.

Yea, Tap is expensive (Always has been)
I believe Tru Vu uses 3/8 for a tank that size.

But truvu also does a perimeter.

Yup, about 3 or 4 inches, I think.

I was going to try building without any bracing.
And put a 1/2 round all the way around the edge.
I thought it would look really nice.

;D

Standard Truvu doesn't have euro brace. The access holes are pretty small. One thing I don't like about it.

With 1/2" you can do euro brace for the tank that size. It would be much nicer.
