firefish hybrids

so what if a purple firefish and an orange firefish or helfich firfish mates with one another? could that happen? has it happened? if it did happen what would be the outcome? and if there is. can i buy one or two or 20? Never looked into it, but my girl and I were just thinking about it. That would be sick. these 2 in my girls nano hang out and sleep together everyday all day. Hybrid coming soon. ya right.

I'm not sure, but I think if they can. It's going to be very unlikely.

that sucks. have you ever heard of people trying to do this or just breed firefish in general?

That larval stage is very small and the first feed is yet to be unlocked. Only the normal and purple live near in the same area but at different depths. Never seen a hybrid and doubt I ever will since they are not broodcast spawners like Tangs and Angelfish.
