A number of members mentioned they were going to Tahoe this weekend, and heard there was an avalanche at Echo summit that buried a bunch of cars, and at one point it took close to 17 hours to get there. CHP periodically closing it down completely even. So regardless of who you are, hope everyone who is going didn't get caught up in that.

Took us about 12 hours to get there.

Left around 9:30 AM, then we see that 80 is closed near Gold Run and cars being turned back so we go down to Colfax for lunch, then take 174/20 to bypass the closure and ... some moron rearended a snowplow so it is closed, so double back to Colfax againg to get back onto 80, which is now opened.

We rented a Dodge Ram 1500 with 4 wheel drive and made it up without chains, but getting out of our rental house with stupid sloped driveway...we had to put on chains. $110 chains that we bought ... for a rental.

Coming home, 4 hours, smooth sailing.
