Neptune Aquatics

Have any1 tried this filter socks?

At that price I can just use one for a month and throw away. My last attempt at cleaning didn't work. An no, I won't put a used sock into the washer/drier ;-)

We could do a small group buy or if anyone driving from Santa Cruz to Bay Area regularly could pick up and redistribute.

Haven't tried, but depending what you're using it for it should be fine? I'd do a good rinse on them first though. Why won't you clean your other ones? I just hose it down real good in the backyard inside out. A quick soak in some bleach water and then another few good rinses and air dry and its fine.

Major problem is not having a backyard. I live in a cardboard. Sad thing - I own it ;-)

He's in SC or you are? his # is a 408, SC is 831??? Then again, my cell phone is 408 and I live in 831

If he's in SC and you want to do this for the next meeting, I suspect i could pick them up for you since I live next to SC (Aptos)

Thanks Gresh, it's only $5 shipping. I was just thinking if more people need it would be more convenient. If it is just me I'll get it shipped.

.... filter sock -> washing machine on hot with a little bleach, set outside to let any bleach offgas for a day or two... what's the prob? They survive quite a few washings.

I use a set of DIY filter socks. There are two ways to do it....sew it with a machine if you have one or have a friend or loved one that sews, or use an iron on "hemming" tape. I go to Walmart and get the white 100% poly felt and made them with the hemming tape. I've had a set of about 6-7 I've used for about a year or so. Even with an iron and the tape, they hold up quite well.

I wash in the washer with hot water and bleach. Then go through another cycle of just water and then air dry. If you're anal about it, add some Prime or other dechlorinator in the last cycle.

A fellow club memeber turned me on to this place, best price I've seen for filter socks
