Hey BAR!!!
i just wanted to swing by in and introduce myself and some info spec of what i have and looking to accomplish. My name is Nick first of all and i just got the interested in the Reef/Marine hobby. i got a few other hobbies and Photography is one of them. well i'll start off by giving some detail of what i have and plans..

**- TruVu 40g acrylic tank (36"Wx16"Hx15"D)
**- Stand (48"Wx24"Hx12"D).....tank is going to be modify to about 18" or 20" deep with maybe pine or oak wood
**- 40lbs of CaribSea sand.....might have to get another bag or two for the tank size. what you guys think? i want the sand to be atleast an inch thick from the bottom.
**- 15g acrylic bare sump tank

so far this is what i have but it is not setup yet. i'm in the process of making/designing my canopy, so after that is done then i'll start setting up the tank. i also need to buy some rocks and maybe put in a refugium. well here are a few question that i like to ask you BAR expert(s) before i start my setup.

*is there a process or step that i need to take or prepare before i start my tank setup? like what should i do first?
*what is the purpose of having a refugium and is the installation or plumbing any dificult?
*what kind of live rocks or where is a good place to get them? if i happen to find some use rocks is there a process that i have to take before putting it in the tank?
*i want to use a metal halide lighting for my tank but what size/wattage should i use? and what does antinc (sp) mean?
i'll have more questions that i like to ask but can't think of it at the moment but i'm open ears to everyone suggestion and input because i;m totally a NEWBIE in the Reef hobby! i'll post up pics of my setup once i finish my canopy.

I hate typing so to answer all those questions is not my cup of tea.

You might want to go on REEF CENTRAL and read some threads there to answer some of your FAQ's

I'd recommend you hit these links up. Read and soak it up. Once you get well acquainted, then we can more efficiently help clarify things a bit more for you :)

Like the above said start researching, the more you read and soak up the easier it will be, when you finally get started.

Now for my question to you :) are you Nick Fury agent of SHIELD? or Nick Fury Director of Shield?

Welcome, welcome! You've come to a knowledgable community. :) I wish I had found BAR when I first started up, but I'm here now, and it has made a big difference. :D
