your setup is really clean bro.

Thanks... it's that "Type A" I've got in me. ;D

Very nice and clean Jeff!

One question about the picture above: Is that clamp on light somehow secured so it doesn't slide down or is it just clamped? If not be carefull because it could eventually slide down and once it drops into the sump you will have a problem. Everything is very nicely built, great job!

LOL... that was actually the first thing I did and it held for all of about 2 seconds. Both sides of the clamp are on the side you can see. There is a wide head screw that is drilled into the ceiling of the stand. The light is clamped onto that... then I tightened the screw in really tight on top of it. It's pretty secure. I've pulled on it multiple directions and tried to pull it off with a fair amount of effort without screwing it up and it holds. I plan on going back with some cable secure clamps to really sturdy it up. The kind that you use to secure coxial cable along a wall. The clamp rod size is close to the same size so I think it will work well. For now though I'm comfortable with it. ...and thanks for the cudos! :D It's been a lot of fun putting this one together.

i'm gonna do that w/ the live rock rubble in the sump on my next setup :)

[/quote]

Thanks man... I love doing them that way. Makes it easy to remove and rinse off any and all ditritus in the rubble using SW from a water change. ...and it's just a cleaner way to do it IMO. I am going to go back and put a lid on this one in the next couple weeks.

The smoke 1/2" vinyl hose you see here in center pic is a maintenance hose I prefer in my set-ups. It alows me to take out 10-15 gallons of water during small water changes with ease and I use it weekly to stir-up/kick-up any ditritus or other junk that has settled in the sump, bubbletrap or protein skimmer chambers. Works really well. Wouldn't do a sump/fuge without one.

Thanks... Todays my first day back to work since 12/23 and it was a struggle to leave my tank today. I've spent 24/7 with it since 12/26. ;D Felt like I was leaving my baby this morning. ;)

Looking forward to finishing up the trim this weekend. That and I'm going to work a little more on my PH placement. Going to go ahead and do a 10% water change tomorrow for good measure also.

My Reef Fanatic ATO also showed up today. I've yet to build the side cabinet that will house the 20G long ATO tank and 40G Breeder Frag tank. Should get it built here in the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to getting this setup. Found out my Calcium Reactor is on backorder. Should ship out in the next couple of weeks... which is fine.

That is exactly what I have and I love it! ;D

Which method did you use for mounting the sensors?

Canopy could use a little tidy-ing up... A few pics of what I've got goin on so far. I plan on making a lid for the canopy in the next few weeks that will be a light 2" Oak frame screened in to reduce the light coming out of the top of the canopy but still allowing airflow. Will also be setting up 4 wisper 4" fans, two blowing in and two blowing out, that will come on when my Halides are on. The two blowing out will be right over my Balast on the left side and the two blowing in will be on the right side.

Starting the stand for the frag tank tomorrow. Should have the basic stand built pretty quickly. Will plumb and set the tank probably same day. I can take my time with the finished panels and top and attach later via Liquid Nails and Clamps. Cut my eggcrate out this evening.
