If anyone has a frag to spare, that would be great!

Was it capricornus? I have acres of the purple montipora carpricornus that was a club favourite a couple of years ago.

The one I have is much smoother and produces downsloped plates. It has only a slightly different colour under LED, T5 or halides. If you are interested I can provide as big a chunk as you would like. I have two ~1 sq ft "frags" that are trimmings of the mother colony.

Growth patterns and color will vary depending on tank conditions.

Some montis will have tons of ridges and some are more smooth with slight bumps.

Some idaho grapes may be an intense deep purple in one persons tank or a pale light purplegray in another persons tank.

Wow @bondolo ! 1 sq ft is quite a frag! I have a large piece from Winfield and several frags of it if anyone needs.

@bondolo - many thanks for the generous frags! I have some smaller pieces if anyone wants 1. Unfortunately, it is not Idaho Grape. I believe it is Purple Haze. So I'm still looking.

@MolaMola thanks for the frags! Hopefully they will turn purple like they were in Winfield's tank!
