    Hello fellow BAR members.
I am moving a 150 gallon glass tank next week and could use a few (2-4) suction cups. If anyone has some to lend me I can pick up this weekend and return them next week. Have a great day!
    Thank you,
    Michael

I plan to do the same 2pm Saturday 8/18 at my house.

I have one, and will borrow another 4 in coming days from xcaret and lbn.

    fishdoctor,

I will have all 5 suction cups by end of Saturday tomorrow.

If your move is before mine (Sat. 8/18), can you ask lbn and xcaret for usage of their cups?

You can come to my place in Fremont to pick up and return back to me by Friday night 8/17.

Depending on time of your move, I may lend you a hand.

    Julius,
I actually plan to have the tank moved by movers on Wednesday 8/15 I was off on my days by a few. If available before your tank move I would be very appreciative. I will inquire of the other members that you have borrowed from if that is ok to pick up from you and return to you on Thursday the day after my move. Thank you for your kind offer to help, I have that covered and wish I could offer to help you in return but unfortunately I’m In a clutch moment right now needing to move after 10 years in the same place... ugh so much to donate or to take to the dump. Have a great weekend.

Julius has a couple of cups you may borrow; I have another set but have to check the piston/vacuum mechanism.
I’ll pull them out tomorrow and check for them to work properly.
If you get them from Julius, no rush on getting them back; I can always swing by your shop.

    Fishdoctor,

Photo attached shows the suction devices I got.

    10” cups x2
    8” cups x2
Dumbbell shaped cups (4.5” diameter cups) x2

I live in Fremont near Fry’s, and work in Santa Clara (near wholefoods). We can meet somewhere closer to u if u are short if time.

    PM me.

    xcaret,

Does the dumbbell shaped suction cups work well, compared to the larger single plate cups?

    Works as good.
I have two others but they seem to have a very, very slow loss of suction. I have used them this way in the past.

The one I bought used will fall off glass (not very clean) after 24-36 hours. I wonder if that means it is not good enough to use moving the tank?

It is 8” cup, and heavier than the 10” one.

I have used the larger 8-10" models and they work real well. Once on it's hard to get it off without releasing the suction.
