Sad day. I moved my rocks around yesterday morning and I forgot my rock full of zoas in a bucket. All gone

Bummer! Are you sure they are gone? If you think some might be alive, you are welcome to toss it into our 65g for a while and see if any come back? Also, we have a lot of zoas and you are more than welcome to come over and check them out and frag any that interest you.

It was over 24 hours. I put the rock back in the water but It looks like they are gone.

I would think severe cold would be worse than lack of water...

How big was the rock? If it was dry overnight and large enough I'd take it back out. It could set off a new cycle.

Cold(room temp) actually can help with dissolved oxygen and slower metabolism. Cold air is less a problem than cold water due to lower heat capacity of air. Damp plus wind chill is not so good though.
