Our mission

Marine Plants

Do you guys keep plants in your tanks? If so love to see a tank shot. I was in Key West this past weekend and picked up a few plants, Mermaids Tail & Shaving Brush Plants. I soaked them in Coral RX rinsed them then put them in. So far so good, the Tang doesnt want to eat them and it adds nice color and texture to the tank.

I currently keep Red Grape and Blue Ochtodes (both macroalgaes) in my display tank. They're colorful and do wonders for the water quality. Most macros are pretty easy to take care of. I believe shaving brush and mermaids tail are calcareous macros, so they do need calcium although that shouldn't be much of an issue as long as you maintain proper calcium levels for your corals. I'm currently setting up a seahorse tank and plan to keep a bunch more macro algaes in that tank :)
