Guest
This tank actually belongs to my son Elijah. He is 6 and this is his 1st tank. He will be learning using this tank how to maintain a salt water reef aquairum and will be making the stocking and aquascaping choices.

Spec's

Tank is a 2.5 gallon Acrilic cube made by FCA (Frist Class Aquairums)
18watt 50/50 bulb USA Current
HOB AC70 / Modded with cheto grate - filled with LR and cheto
25 watt Visi-therm heater

Liverock is a mix of stuff from my sump and from from Tony (Radar1)
Live sand is from my fuge

Money spent - $0.00 (I traded Tony 2 green Rics and a Neon Orange Ric baby for this tank and equipment)

Day 5 -

Elijah madea change today, he diecided he wanted one of the pretty "purple rocks" from Daddys tank, so I let him chose one.

We aslo did the 1st round of testing

PH - 8.2
Amonina- 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 10ppm
Temp - 78.9

Man I need to get the stuff to make a ATO for this thing, the evap is crazy.

Day 8 -

Well Elijah's tank is moving right along. The Diatom bloom is in full effect, and we are going to need to add a CUC very soon. Elijah is already begining to coral shop in my 120, so this should get interesting very quickly. The ATO needs to be tested again before I stick it on the tank but the new design seems like it will work fine.

Day 10 -

Well Elijah switched out one of his rocks for a new one that I guess had some dorment xenia and marco algae on it.

We had to add a couple of blue legged hermits to deal with the begining of his tank's diatom outbreak

And now some pic's

Very nice looking tank. I have wanted something like that in my office for so long, but my boss is no fun. You can see the reef bug bite in the "Admiring his work" shot. Keep up the great work.

Yes that's Tim. He's the reefer from inside the computer :D

Well Elijah still hasn't grasped the idea that you can talk to hell KNOW ppl all from typing on a computer, I'm not exactly jumping at the chance to teach him about IM and e-mail.............

Elijah got to coral shop again in my tank yesterday, he picked a pink yuma and two green rics.

Everything seems to be doing real well, looks like the stocking list will just be a Yashi Goby and a Randell Shrimp.

That tank is nicer than my 14g! Nice job! :)

Elijah said thanks so much.

Just shows what can be done by a 7 year old once they learn patence and do research before they add anything to a tank.

I thought I would update this with a ton of progress pics
