So the wife is OK with upgrading from our 14g biocube to something bigger....she wants it big, like 4-5 ft long...but we don't have the room / placement for something like that so I am planning on getting a 50g cube from SCA. (24x24x20)

I have started to build my own stand because theirs seem to be too tight and not mush room inside of the cabinet. Building it 31x26 and 35" high with a side door to contain all electronics.

This is a list of things I am planning to get from BRS over the next week during the sales, please let me know if I am missing anything vital to the initial setup:

Skimz sn123 skimmer
BRS mini reactor
Marinepure balls 1 1/2 inch
1- 1" value gate valve for the return
2- 1/2" value gate valves for return manifold for reactor and future needs
Silicone tubing and mur loc connectors for manifold to reactor
Jabeo dcs5000 return pump
Braided 1" line for return to manifold and then up to barb just below bulkhead
3 1"unions for the Herbie drain and return
Strainer for drain pipe
1" pipe adapter to spigot for return pump to manifold
1/2" 90° spigot to barb to go from manifold to reactor
4x8 " felt socks (3)?
Extra PB4 bar for Reefkeeper lite
Tunze nano ato

Anything else???
Thanks,
Ken

First I would ask how much room do you have? And don't restrict yourself to the current location of your biocube, make smart choices about where it could go mind you but 24x24 might not seem like a large enough upgrade.

The location is already decided as well as size, over 3 times as big as I have now is perfect.

Just need some experienced eyes to review the pieces I'll need to complete the initial setup and plumbing with options for additional items down the road, .ie the manifold for water changes

Any flow in the tank aside from the return pump? BRS has pumps on sale today, those Sicce X Stream pumps are fairly tiny for a tank that size.

Alrighty (had to google it, didn't realize they renamed the pumps).

Lighting I assume is locked up too? You got water flow, you got light, you got a sump, skimmer, heater(?), and all the plumbing to make it work, I think you're good to go.

Yes for dosing, but don't think it is needed for the first month or two....but man they have some great prices on the 1/2 gallon Alk / Cal with 2 dosing pumps for $139!! I may have to get that just due to the price alone

I currently have threaded but when I redo my manifold will go with slip. There is some slow slow drippage from the threaded connections into the sump even though I used tape and screwed tight.

If you're going 24x24, I have a steel welded stand that's awesome for that size of tank. Wouldn't mind selling it if you're interested. Previously housed a 24x24x14 frag tank :)

I have spend the last week designing a stand and building it.....here are a few pictures. I plan on having a door for all electronics on the left with a charcoal plexiglass window, and one door on the front to fit the sump and do maintenance. I also just mocked up my return plumbing / manifold. Will be adding a union on the left side just above the pump for cleaning and will add two 1/2" gate valves to assist with water change and feed my reactor.

Thinking of using something like this to feed my cords from the sump area and thru the side of the stand to where my electronics will be mounted....the straight part will hold all tank cords and the side piece will exit the back wall of the stand to allow power from the wall outlet.....thoughts?

I saw either 3" or 4" diameter ones at HD...should be big enough for most, and those that have big square plugs usually plug into a device or controller with small round male/female plugs
