Phosguard

Hey, anybody use phosguard to reduce phosphates?

I got some phosguard pads that I cut for the size of my media basket. But lots of dust particles falls off them and makes a mess. So I tried rinsing the pad before cutting. Once dry it still leaves dust everywhere. I’m trying to figure out if the dust particles in the pad are what reduce the phosphates or if they are just extra messy material left over and should be shaken out.

Alternatively what does everybody use to control phosphates?

Most media needs rinsing in RO before usage. Dust is normal.
Never tried to cut pads though.

I use GFO. Much cheaper.

Phosguard can be reused, so I've been told. It's an aluminum based absorber and I believe it will absorb excess iron in your system (according to ATI and Triton advice) from running gfo.
