Has anyone used limpets or chitons before?

I haven't tired them myself but it sounds like they'll do a similar job to snails. I mainly wanted them for the diversity and something else to look at besides snails and crabs. I am a bit worried that they'll knock corals over though.

I can give you a couple of limpets out of the bunch I ordered if you want to give em a try. I only ordered one chiton because of the 3" size.

I grabbed a couple already just to see what they were like. I'll be interested to see how that chiton works out for you though.

You have a glass tank, right?
Be very wary of them if you have acrylic.

Yeah glass here. Do they etch little hide outs in acrylic?

I had what I believed to be chitons in an acrylic and they scratched the hell out of it. They were only about 1/4" long with a pale white shell. Left nasty gouge marks. Since they can actually 'chew' the rock, I'm not sure I'd want them in my tank even if it was glass.

I have limpets in my tank. Not sure where they came in from, but they have been reproducing in my tank. I have to clean babies out of the water line. They tend to go up past the line and die.

It's Wednesday, so you all know what that means. Last day for orders!

Also seems a Hawk Wing Conch has been added, might be interesting for anyone with a larger tank.

    Sweet!
If you want to meet a bit before meeting in the parking lot, and save some
    carrying, designate a spot.

Thanks for organizing the GB with reefcleaners, Not_Now_John!

Did someone get a surprise pack of mangroves in their order? I may have received your copepods. :p

    My order was correct.
And I ordered pods as well.

    Everything seems alive and well.
One of the brittle stars was really big!
Of course, it went "poof" into the rockwork like the rest.

    Thanks for organizing it Michael.

I was missing copepods. Put em in your sump, I will reorder next time.

Hmm, I thought the oddly empty looking bag was full copepods, does yours have crawlies all over it? Didn't get any mangroves though.

I had mangroves but I did add that and pods to my second order. The pod bag did seem to have a lot of life in it. Hopefully that will jump start the population again. I had a couple of DOAs but it looked like there were a few extras in most of the bags. All in all I was pretty happy with the critters.
