Planning to order some 16 Watt - PAR38 CFL - 75 W Equal - 6500K Full Spectrum floodlight bulbs to replace the ones that are lighting my refugia (one died in the recent power outage). Here is a review from a well-known hobbyist (read the bottom of the page for the newer bulbs):
I found these bulbs on for just over $9/bulb, with a shipping charge of $10.45:
I could ask one of the peninsula BAR members to bring them to the April 9 meeting if anyone would like me to order extra bulbs. Planning to place the order tomorrow afternoon; please let me know.

Christina: Have you thought about using the LED light from Costco? They are more energy efficient and last longer.

Actually the LED lights from CostCo are not energy efficient at all (I'm assuming you mean the one with a ton of LEDs in it, I haven't seen the higher powered LEDs there as of yet). CFL bulbs are still pretty damn efficient compared to what the major companies are putting out for home users, and in many cases even more efficient. Its fairly easy to compare too.

As to the Melev light, a bit overkill IMO, any CFL should do the same job, however I would opt for the ones in the glass PAR fixture as you will get salt creep on the bulb :D
