Rock Nem garden...

Took these pictures today of the rock nems that spawned in my old biocube. Time to start feeding them some chunks of shrimp so they can get bigger. I have about 20+ in there right now...

Is it really that yellow in person? Really nice. You can sell those for a pretty good price. Last coral farmers market they were selling at $40 each. I heard they were pretty hard to get to multiply.

Most are different variations of red...the one in the bottom right is actually green...I think it is the mother...

I am will to part / sell them....just trying to get them big enough.....since I am not sure how to get them off the rocks their on...I might have to sell the rocks with the nems attached

Daytime pics...different angles

What lighting do you have on your Biocube? It's a 14, not a 29, right? Your nems look great! Our class is either going to turn our BC 14 into a Caribbean biotope or nem tank. They need something they can feed badly! Ugh - suddenly I wonder if I should go for another 29 tank and ditch the 14. 14 seems so tiny, but I have it with water and sand and some rock and it fits in the space easily. I hate making decisions.

I have a biocube 14....I swapped out the power compact lighting and installed 3 Tru lumen 12" strip lights...2 50/50 (white and actinic) and one actinic. All of it fit in the stock hood nicely. I do feed the little nems with some small bits of shrimp every day or two...

That is one of my lighting option finalists, so I will go with it! Was trying to figure out if it would be enough light - I was not sure how to compare LEDs, so thanks. One more question - do the 3 strip lights use the 3-way splitter and ONE transformer or do you need TWO transformers? Do you have to have 3 dimmers?

I did have two transformers initially with dimmers...but then got a Current USA dual ramp timer...use a three way connector for 50/50 and the other for the actinic.

Not quite sure I understand. One transformer and the dual ramp timer for TWO strips, another transformer and a separate dimmer for ONE strip, and one 3-way splitter total? Did you just need the swivel brackets for mounting? I really appreciate your help with this.

So, I only use one transformer...which powers the dual ramp timer. It has two lines, one for the blue and one for the white channel. I use the standard connection for the Tru lumen actinic directly to the first line and than use a 3-1 splitter to connect the two 50/50 strips to the second line of he dual ramp timer.
I removed the PC guts from the hood and just left the reflectors in place. I used thick double sided tape to secure them to the reflector plate. Actinic in the middle and the two 50/50 lights in the front and back. Wires all feed thru the standard holes used by the original cords.

I guess it all depends on what size people want...I have about two that are half dollar size (one red and one green)...and about 6-7 the size of a quarter...and over 15 the size of a dime or smaller.

The one issue I might have is getting them off the rocks they are attached to...
