Any advice or recommendations on what type of security camera to use when going on vacation? Thanks

I have both a Nest Cam (dropcam) and a Canary. I've had both since they first came out. While they both work well, the Dropcam servers and app are a lot faster and more responsive. Quality is good either way.

I use an app called Presence. It allows me to use my old ios devices as motion activated cameras. It is free and since I have a handful of old iphones and ipads, there are no cameras to buy. I get an alert on my phone if there is motion detected and I can look at what was recorded.

I have an 8 camera system from Swann. It has online access and a dvr. It's not a nice as cams like the nest cam but the whole system cost me about $250.
