Aiptasia? In MY tank!? I think not. Just hiding the early stage results of my rare Brown Australian Micro Anemone (tm) breeding program. ;)

In the olden days, that stuff was called tissue sponge or TP sponge. It looks and feels like wet TP. The stuff is all over the underside of my setosa colony.

Ok, to revise my original question - I don't care WHAT it is... how do I get rid of it?! there's another small patch of it on the other side of the tank that seems (?) to be duking it out with my zoas. I much prefer my zoas to TP sponge, so I pulled out a small patch and did the 10% hydrogen peroxide dip for a few minutes and the bit of sponge that got dipped is not-obviously-dead. :-/

That's nature maaaaaannnn! (exhales smoke). survival of the fittest.

Seriously though, that sponge is pretty cool looking and pretty unique. Leave the sponge alone maaaaaaaannn! (picks up protest sign and leaves teepee to start protesting)
