well im ready to fill our tank since we cant have a large one at the moment we have a 12 gal cube master. i like it because it has T5's over PC lights
anyways back to the subject was wondering if any one is doing a water change and if i can get about 12 gals of water from it to jump start my system and possibly barrow 2 water containers for this job

You should start fresh with clean water and clean liverock, no sense in starting with water that has PO4 and NO3. Tank water has very little in the way of beneficial bacteria as compared to the biofilm found on the surface of liverock.
 
really that is new to me i never heard of that b/c i have seen tanks started by taking water from another members tank and then letting it cycle and after it has cycled do a water change then add live stock
but either way works for me thanks for the info though
also for got to add we are in gilroy
