I think I saw this guy in a horror movie somewhere before
hehe Dave, looksl ike it definitely has potential though.
Out of curiosity Jim, a few definitions please.
any reefcrest coral tank.
I will admit that I don't know what "reefcrest" means *blush*
Sorry, meant reef crest

Looks like this guy shows PE during daylight, big fat green polyps. My plan is to hammer it with light when it's out of QT to try and coax some purple tips out of it.
Anyone else notice PE during the day?
mine has bright green pollups extension during the day but the coral itself still hasnt color up yet. Hopefully in about 2 more weeks it will lighten up. Right now it is getting blasted with lights.
Mine has small bright green polyps, but body is mostly brown. I also fragged a little nod when I first got it home and placed it about 7 inch directly under 250W light, and it shows some really dark purple color. It seems hard to lighten it up.
Man that look like it going to have some potential.Anyone has a frag for trade or sale?
Lets see it now?
Eeek... :-[
BAR put those into the frag swap so that members could have some nice things to prop for future swaps and stuff.
Please take some time to grow out your pieces. The intent really wasn't for people to trade and sell their new frags.
Maybe after several months, someone can start a DBTC for this one
Mine has yet to even come out of QT.....
I went through a big tri color phase a while back and found them to be hit or miss pieces, with many of the hits being fickle as far as achieving color. It will be interesting to see who gets the best color, and how.
This coral shows some nice dark purple shading on the body. Should be fine in any reefcrest coral tank. Surges or other appropriate mass water movement technology should be used with this coral. Med high lighting should bring out some nice color. I'd only recommend this coral for metal halide lit systems. Smallish colony was purchased so limited frags will be available. Please be sure you can house this animal appropriately before bringing it home.
Thx-Jim
