Please help us positively ID this coral.
At this time we believe it may be Micromussa diminuta

I haven't been able to get this guy to eat. I have been trying to feed cyclopeeze and mysis, with no response. What are you guys doing for your frags?

Yeah, all the BAR and sfsuphysic's acans I picked up are eating. Can't get the favia and this piece to eat though.

Sometimes you need to tease favid type LPS by squirting a little food on/near them right before the lights go out to get them to open up. Then go back and actually feed them. Mine like Arcti pods, mysis, even Formula 1.

I have yet to see this piece eat yet as well though. However it sure is getting pretty, and seems to be growing already.

tuberider,
I've tried squirting cyclopeeze/mysis on them. I actually had a piece of mysis laying on top of the piece yesterday for about 10 minutes with the pumps off, no takers.
It's growing for you already? Where do you have it placed? I've got mine in moderate light, and there's been no noticeable decline. I am worried about the not eating part though, in my experience LPS do eat, and some absolutely require food.

Mine is in QT about 12" under a 70W 14k halide, again the Micro(?) has not eaten. My favia eats like a pig. It is not from the swap however, although to me though upon examination I believe them to be the same or very similar.

The Micros tissue is starting to wrap onto the skeleton, and it seems to be extremely happy without eating at this point. I'll let you know if it eats, right now I'm not too worried about it.

My experience with favia type corals is that if you don't feed them for a while they won't do much immediately, or when you want it,  but if you squirt them with some mysis juice (i.e. the stuff you're not supposed to put in the tank due to algae issues), it might make them react, perhaps not the first night, but sometime down the road.

And yeah, mine open up and feed great, I've trained them well Laughing out loud... although I'm currently out of mysis.

Mine is in the middle of shifting to more of a green around the edges, and it does seem the green has a bit of shine to it. Good to know the center of the polyps stay purple, (hopefully) mine have so far.
