Frag sizing guidelines...

I'm sure this has been mentioned in the past, however in my own ignorance I'll post it again 
I won't have any Zoas to bring, so if someone is curious about that they can ask... however
How many polyps would be appropriate for...
Blastomussa merletti?
Blastomussa Wellsi?
Acan lord?
I'm really torn between making lots of frags or fewer of "decent sized" frags. I know something like a acropora micropthalama I'll toss in a minicolony as opposed to making 10 frags (still decently sized mind you ), however should I make some 3 polyp frags vs say a 10 polyp frag of the LPS mentioned.

You know it's bad though when you're weighing in the value of the containers vs how many small you want to make the frags

Thanks for the question, Mike.
The point of the swap is dissemination, so more is better, if they survive. However, I recommend against very small frags as these swaps and frags' new homes tend to be very stressful.
3 polyp frags for wellsi and lords are perfect. Even 2 polyp frags would be okay. Personally I would probably do 5 polyp frags of merletti just because they are smaller, but 3 should work.
In general, I recommend using the golden rule - Do unto others as you want them to do to you. Would you feel good about taking home a 1 polyp frag of some acan? A 1/4" nub of cali tort? A single polyp or PPE? I sure wouldn't, and their chance of survival would not be great.

Generally that is true, however there are some lords that I'd be happy just to get a single healthy head That of course is weighted by the "awesomeness". This is the exception, not the rule
With chalices, I would say it should be atleast 1" around. The rare exception are the ..well...rare ones where people frequently sell by the eye.

Should I feel bad if I don't have much to bring?? Most of the stuff in my tank are from DBTC and most of my coral are not really fraggable..

Man almost forgot Phong has a tank now
But yeah, come on you know the drill, there are those who have too much in their tank and can't give them away for free via DBTC so they'll bring to the big show and make some of those MARS members take them back East
But seriously, yeah, I'll be bringing more than three strains, and most definitely will leave with way less than I brought.... unless I get all lucky and win the raffle like crazy again

Yeah at least 3... I might to have run to our sponsors to see if they have anything special .. Nobody want the algae in my tank LOL..

IMO 3 is a great start. One is a bit lean. 10 is too much
