Seismic concerns with mounting radions from ceiling?

East coaster here so pardon the ignorance, setting up my red sea 300xl for my radions and i am not liking the RMS bracket. In the past i hung my lights from the ceiling, now that seismic cocerns come into play, how do people feel about doing this out here, am i over thinking it or should I stick with the RMS?

You're over thinking things. Mount them how you'd like, if you mount from the ceiling the only way your Radions are taking a drink in the tank is if your ceiling collapses (or you do a piss poor job with screwing them into a beam in the ceiling, i.e. screw into drywall like it's the same thing)

Should be fine.
I have shelves mounted to the ceiling above my tank.
Just cover your tank well when working so you do not get dywall gypsum or dropped tools in your tank.

I used the rms multi arm and the ecotech hanging kit. I love it!!!

If your ceiling collapses because of an earthquake you probably have bigger issues than your lights falling in the tank :)

Since you probably won't have studs where you want them, you can just mount a board to the ceiling ( through studs) and then mount the lights to the board.
