Chromis never learned how to eat again after changing feeder

I just lost my only chromis. That guy basically lived lodged in the feeder ring under my Neptune auto feeder. I recently changed to the Avast Plank, that feeds throughout the day, but the food slowly escapes through the bottom cylinder.

The poor fish never ate. Just sat there waiting for food to drop rather than swimming around to eat. I was hand feeding him for awhile with some food right where he was waiting, and that sustained him for a bit, but then I just figured he'd have to learn.

After about 3 weeks, he basically looked like he was dying of hunger and that was it.

It could've been my battle with dinos, though it's been awhile since those went away. I guess if you're trained on something for 4 years, it's hard.

Very sad.

Most Chromis seem to go quick. But I did have one old one once.
Toward the end it really never moved from their specific spot, and eventually stopped eating and faded away.
So it might not have been all about the feeder change.
