Coral description
Small micro snail to clean crevices. Hide and are invisible during the day, come out en masse at night.
I just added Collinista snail to DBTC.

There are 3 frag(s) available right now.

These are exceptionally tiny. Availability depends on how much time I have to pluck them out of crevices. I have never had brooklynella or velvet, and no noticeable ich.

The "Mini Trochus" Collonista Snail is a ravenous tank-bred herbivore. These inverts make great additions to your clean up crew as they eat film algae on your glass and even some Cyanobacteria and Diatoms. These snails are extremely tiny even as adults. They're perfect for nano or pico tanks, but they're also great for large tanks because they can fit into crevices in rocks and places larger snails can't reach.

By “mini trochus” they meant micro…. You’ll want many

I promised some to Derek too, but could not find any that day. They only come out at night in any significant quantity

I will bring some to the swap if I can find them this time
No worries. I can't make the swap unfortunately. I'm not in a huge hurry as there isn't much algae yet. Happy to wait in line.

Are they a scratch risk with magnetic scrapers? Not sure if they like to hide in there like some limpets do.

I have not yet found them sitting on magnetic scrapers, but given they’re essentially motile sand, I would expect them to end up in inconvenient places sometimes.

I think there have been one or two reports of them going into pumps or propagating in insane numbers, but tbh I find that doubtful especially in a reasonably healthy tank without excessive food. Your mileage may vary though for sure
