Greetings - As part of my tank resurrection project, yesterday I threw away a vintage skimmer with a frozen pump. I could retrieve it from the bin if someone wanted it. It's close to 30" tall with a 6-7" chamber. I made a few mods at least a decade ago (gate valve and riser pipe). It worked, mostly. It needs a Sedra 5000 pump ($100 and change). It's in Daly City. Help save this classic from the landfill!

I put in a Bubble Magus Curve-7. I must admit I am impressed - budget skimmer design has obviously advanced quite a bit. I dropped it in today and expected to wait 3-4 days to see results and get it dialed in. But 15 minutes later it was stable, and producing a "medium - wet" skimmate with minimum tweaking.
But it probably helps when your water is really, really dirty.
