Failing seal on Red Sea Aquarium

Well,
Just noticed this week my Red Sea aquarium seal is starting to fail along the bottom panel. I reached out to Red Sea. Unfortunately the warranty expired 05-22. The best they could offer was a discounted price on a replacement. Honestly I have read too many stories now of their aquariums failing to reinvest in their company. If it was a free replacement I might consider it despite having to pay shipping costs. Bummed they didn’t want to stand by their product more. I was hoping their tanks would last more than three years. Glad I ordered the waterbox 180.5 but that has been delayed now for two weeks.
Oh well. Live and learn.

I think Redsea is garbage. One of the factors the 900 3xl is better off in my garage than my home.

Owned multiple of their tanks, never will again.

My .02

Sorry to hear about your experience :(.

I will never own a Red Sea tank.
I’m so sorry to hear about your situation and wish you the best of luck fixing it.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately it’s the old saying. They don’t build them like they use too. I still run my dads 50 year old stainless steel, glass and tar aquarium. It’s a tank. But these days even wants rimless blah blah blah. Then wave makers , flo etc. aquariums can’t handle that kinda pressures.
But hey at least you caught it and it didn’t burst. And we aren’t talking about a total loss, home insurance claim.

Sorry to hear about the tank. I have a 50g stock tank if you need to borrow.

I have luckily never owned a RedSea tank, but I have had bad luck with their other equipment failing, and customer service has been poor. Never again.

I might take you up on that. I am off this weekend and might be worth while switching over to another tank until the waterbox comes in.

I have an extra 40 breeder, 20 long and standard 20. You can borrow all of em. They’ll need a decent bleaching as they were used for QT but you’re welcome to them

Well,
First off I wanted to thank everyone who reached out and offered to help in some way. I really appreciate it, and this is what this group is about.

This was a sad weekend. In hindsight not selling the waterbox was a blessing in disguise. I ended up tearing down the Red Sea 260E and transferring everything into the small waterbox. This is all temporary until the waterbox 180.5 shows up. I was able to save all the corals I liked. Hopefully they all survive the transition. I hope the fish are able to survive and settle down until the new tank is ready. We’ll see.

Sad pic of the old tank. Pic of the new temp tank. It will likely be a clownfish tank in the long run. Hard lesson learned. No more Red Sea products for me.

Gotta love having extra tanks around!
I can’t imagine not

All livestock should settle in fine
Give an extra water change to dilute
Good luck
Glad to hear you have a temporary solution
