Giving up on AquaForest, going to just ESV 2-part

My tank has been running on AquaForest 1+2+3+ for 3 years now, and nothing is staying alive. The Reef Salt mix has Mg levels way above testing levels. Keeping Alk/Ca up with their 1+ and 2+ just doesn't work, because I believe it's pumping in a bunch of trace stuff that's just killing everything.

I stopped dosing anything, and did one water change a month. Everything seemed to get better, but still struggling.

I'm sticking with the Reef Salt mix for now, and going to switch to dosing just ESV 2 part for Alk/Ca.

I'll eventually switch to another mix.

This was just too complicated.

I was dosing:
1. 1+ (Ca) with AquaForest reef mineral salt
2. 2+ (Alk)
3. Amino Acids
4. NoPox

Now I'll just dose Ca and Alk mixtures.

Think it'll be enough?

Yes it will likely be enough.

For sure water changes and B-Ionic are enough to keep a tank thriving. And probably a good baseline approach to get back to. NOPOX only if needed based on testing results.

I haven’t seen your tank in a long time so I’m not sure what you have now.

If stuff is dying and it’s not clear why, I’d start with multiple large water changes as a reset.

Did you absolutely NEED to dose NoPox? or were you just preemptively doing that?

I'd say, keep things simple, dose kalkwasser none of this fancy brand name elements in a bottle.
