After a hiatus and a new house remodel, we’re back! We decided to slim down the tank a bit to a 55 gallon tank. However still long enough to get a small tang in there!

The cabinets are built around the tank. Tank is put in, but the rest of the pipes need to be put in. Should be done in next few weeks hopefully (by AC).

Some other priorities in house that need to be done before we really get it up and running takes over L’s life again. Also need to make sure Apex is running correctly. It essentially went offline from the wifi and the energy failed..

Hopefully this tank will be much less maintenance than the last. Will be getting water from AC to reduce that need plus hopefully fairly easy fish to feed and easy corals.

Wow I love that built in look. There’s a few good build journals for RSR 250s here, if you want to see a fully stuffed cabinet check out @RandyC ’s journal

Whoo! So you threw a Red Sea tank in there with, I guess the front cabinet doors of the RS stand removed? Both turn key and elegant.

Well after a year now- tank is finally up. Took much longer to get our act together but..that is life. Rocks are in -fortunately able to repurpose rocks from last tank, as well as water and sand..
Recycling tank and hopefully good to go to add some fish prob next week..

Hope all is well with everyone and I (L) should be much more active fo’ sure

Update -
One algae bloom- a nice big water change did wonders and today snails and two fish went in-lawnmower blenny and a purple dottyback. Let the real fun begin.

It occurred to me...
Is the area above the tank well ventilated?
You have a humid environment....
If not, you could grow mold and or have the cabinetry become compromised.

Best fishes
I’ll get a pic later. It’s not ventilated per se but that area is generally cool - but I do have some concerns about that. The suggestion is to use boo’s block on the wood that is not treated. Overall not overly concerned about outside cabinet as tank actually sits on the original stand from Red Sea.
